Vintage Mens Art Deco Shoes White Suede c1936 Beauties Light Wear & light marks. Size wear as a 7 1/2. Length 11"L, toe width, widest 3 7/8"w, width of arch at heel 2 1/2"w.As far as color these have not been brightened to make them appear whiter than they are but that's how they show. Imagine them with a hint of yellow as if you just developed a cataract but can't tell that you did. Only a very slight tinge to be accurate. There are a few flaws which are shown and described as far as condition. For sure while dancing the Carioca, Samba or Lindy they disappear. I know
having
won best dancer in high school. The photos do a good job in describing these shoes condition. I bought these as NOS, new old stock, at the Sausalito Flea Market in Frisco in 1977. There were ten different pair and all came from a Las Vegas dry goods store. I tied the boxes together and carried them back on the plane to NYC as carry-on-luggage. Only one pair didn't fit, the rest I wore maybe once a year since then. Some once or twice over that time. None have been worn in the last four years. Six more will be up for auction. An additional photo indicates others as an example. From c.1920-1940s. This pair of white suede (never polished) are still sporting their original white laces. P
olish has never been near them. There are a few light spots as shown in the close-ups. They have not been touched up for the photos to show have they have lived and lasted. The heels have some wear, again as shown.
The photo of Best Dressed is me in '63 repeating what I did 3 yrs early in Jr. High. And I have been doing it since I was a little kid. Having had Fedora's custom made for me, matching my father's hats, from the age of 5 and on. S+H .00 packed to travel without a blemish. My wardrobe of wearable items, which I wear, are from 1895 to 1968. All are in similar condition. Check out my other shoe auctions.
