    Description

New decal for the roll chart drive on military TV2 tube testers. Replace that darkened, scratched, nasty old thing with a bright new one. The original decal Uncle Sugar used had white markings, I find that the black lettered decal that I make has a better contrast. THIS SALE IS FOR THE DECAL ONLY! THE ROLL CHART MECHANISM SHOWN IN THE PICTURES IS FOR DEMONSTRATION ONLY, IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS SALE.
The decal is applied just like the decals on model airplanes or cars we built as kids, which was a very long time ago for me.
    1. Remove old decal and sand decal area smooth. You may decide to remove the roll chart and clear plastic window, but you may possibly avoid this by covering the roll chart and              mask off the thumb wheel and clear plastic window to prevent over-spray
    2. Repaint mechanism with a suitable light gray paint. It is impossible to match the original paint perfectly as Uncle used a shade of gray that is impossible to match exactly. I have tried      several different shades of gray from several different manufactures and none was a good match, so paint it with a light shade of gray that you can live with.
    3. When paint is dry, ensure that decal area is smooth. You may have to lightly re-sand decal area with extra fine 600 grit sand paper. Be careful not to over sand, exposing old paint
    4. Re-install roll chart and clear plastic window if removed.
    4. Trim new decal as needed and DRY FIT to mechanism.
    5. Soak decal in warm water for a minute or two.
    6. slide new decal onto drive mechanism and align decal to data on roll chart. Note that perfect alignment with chart is nearly impossible as the chart moves slightly to the right or left as it is turned. Nothing can be done about this I'm afraid.
    7. CAREFULLY pat decal to remove water or any air bubbles from underside of decal.
    8. When dry, mask off window and spray a couple of LIGHT coats of clear Valspar or Rustoleum over decal to seal it. USE ONE OR TWO LIGHT COATS.
    9. Remove masking and install.
