First half of the 20th century Beautiful glass beads of Hebron in different colors of blues and greens. These are difficult to find and date from 1800.
A prayer box pendant, known as a “Hirz” was typically part of a woman’s wedding regalia, and the intricate silver techniques were perfected by silver smiths before World War II. These pendants usually show a fair amount of wear, likely from being a much-loved piece of jewelry. As such, many of the designs at each end — along with the silver itself — have worn down over the decades. Handmade by local Artisans and sometimes decorated with colorful enamel.
Sometimes referred to as amulet or talisman due to fact that it might have had a prayer put inside of it for protection.

Vaseline Beads are a variety of Czech trade bead originally manufactured in Bohemia (present day Czechoslovakia) between the late 19th and early 20th century. Their name derives from their distinctive translucent greenish color – similar to that of Vaseline.
According to trade records, Vaseline Beads were produced to demand in Bohemia for English, Italian, and Spanish merchants. The expense of producing these beads on such a massive scale was soon felt by glass-makers in Bohemia. The effects of World War I and the Great Depression meant that demand for Vaseline glass declined considerably during the mid 1920s, and by the time the Communists seized power in Bohemia, Vaseline Beads were largely obsolete.
Bohemian Vaseline Beads produced during the 19th and early 20th century are distinguishable from later imitations by their cut and shape. They were commonly made in either rondelle, bicone or disc form, with distinctive hand-cut facets.
