    FRANCISCO DE GOYA «Hard is the step» Original engraving no. 14 of the Disasters of war.
    Footprint size 17.7x21.7 cms. Sheet size 28x38 cms. Five series numbered from 1 to 5 were dedicated to Stalin, Mrs. Eleanor Rooselvet, and Azaña, President of the Republic, leaving two series without adjudication. This engraving has the number 11 on the back. One of the first series shot in 1937 was gifted by the Spanish ambassador in London to the Victorian and Albert Museum, where it was exhibited. The engraving bears a dry stamp with a CN surrounded by a border where it reads: Calcografia Nacional Ministerio de Instrucción Pública. Thomas Harris states that it corresponds to a very well recorded edition.
