Description

The Taishan and Huangshan are two new limited editions from Aurora dedicated to mountains in China. Huangshan (黄山) literally means Yellow Mountain and is a mountain range in Southern Anhui Province in Eastern China. Vegetation on the range is thickest below 1,100 meters (3,600 ft), with trees growing up to the tree line at 1,800 meters (5,900 ft).
The area is well known for its scenery, sunsets, peculiarly-shaped granite peaks, Huangshan pine trees, hot springs, winter snow and views of the clouds from above. Huangshan is a frequent subject of traditional Chinese paintings and literature, as well as modern photography. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of China’s major tourist destinations.
The Aurora 88 Huangshan is made from a multi-colored marbled Auroloide representing many of the colors seen in the mountain range. The rose gold plated trims match the solid 18k rose gold nib that is available in 12 different widths: EF, F, Fine Flex, M, B, BB, OBB, Factory Stub, Factory Italic, and 3 sizes of the new Goccia nib. The cap band is deeply engraved by CNC machine depicting several mountain peaks and the Chinese characters 黄山 for Huangshan.
One feature that shouldn’t be overlooked is Aurora’s unique piston filling system which provides an small reserve of ink that’s accessible by extending the piston mechanism, providing enough ink for several more pages of writing after the pen initially runs dry. An added benefit to this design is that the filling knob remains extended, acting as a reminder to refill the pen.
